Annual Business Meeting Booklet 2024
A Letter from the Pastor
I was just recently reading the Annual Business Meeting minutes from our 2023 meeting and all I can say is, “Wow!” At last year’s meeting we were struggling with sticker shock from the bids for our expansion and working on solutions that could get us to breaking ground. We didn’t have the answers yet and were contemplating ANOTHER halt to a project that was already 10 years in the making (read “making” as waiting!).
Since that meeting we’ve seen countless miracles including significant value engineering to lower the cost and Miracle Sunday where in a 4 week span we hit the miracle goal of $650,000 to begin the project. In fact we exceeded the goal and raised almost $667,000 in that time. We were able to sign on with Ryan Construction and break ground at the beginning of August.
Now that we’re 7 months into the project we’ve continued to see savings that bring the cost down. These savings were in the form of:
- Business connections who lowered their cost for materials
- Swapping out certain materials for less expensive ones
- Material donations
- Subcontractors who believe in what we’re doing and…
- Lowered their fees
- Didn’t charge for “change orders” to the project.
From here we still have approximately 8 months of construction before a Grand Opening. Please continue praying for creative/financial miracles to keep the cost down.
Shifting gears … THANK YOU to all of you who’ve given to the Legacy Campaign so far! Legacy is a 36-month campaign with an overall goal exceeding $3M* to offset the cost of construction. At the 15-month mark we’ve raised almost $1.4M and still have 21 months to go! Praise God! (*NOTE: When Legacy started in December 2022 the goal was $3M for the campaign. With the high sticker price for the entire construction project we removed the lobby from the plan for now and will build the lobby when we have the necessary funds to do so. Unfortunately that cost is a moving target until we’re ready to begin. Updates will be given regularly as we get closer to the reality of building the lobby. This is the reason I say the Legacy Campaign’s goal “exceeds $3M.”) Your continued support for the Legacy Campaign is greatly appreciated! If you’ve yet to get on board can I challenge you to prayerfully consider making a donation and/or pledge toward the campaign over the next 21 months. We say often, “It takes all of us for WE to win” and your participation is encouraged. We have a ways to go for sure. 🙂
It’s exciting to see our Master Plan from the last 10+ years coming to pass! We’re making room and continue dreaming and planning to make a significant difference in Marysville and the surrounding communities.
We’re just 8(ish) months away from our Grand Opening! Let’s pray for those we love to surrender to Jesus. Let’s pray that we continue caring deeply and being salt and light around here! THANK YOU for being on the journey with us!
Great Days Ahead!

Ratifying Our Existing Board Members

Although we were both introduced to Church as children, neither of us were raised in Christ centered homes. I began attending The Grove back in 2014, after a recommendation from a friend, and immediately felt at home. John started attending shortly after me and later we were baptized together in 2017.
On our journey with Christ one of the biggest shifts we made in our personal lives was to center all other activities around Sunday Church gatherings and events, putting God first. I believe this has been key in getting our hearts set on the right priorities in our lives.
We really enjoy volunteering as a way to connect deeper and to give back. We’ve spent time helping with Host Team, Carnival, Back 2 School Bash, Fight Hunger, The Neighborhood, iHeart, Missions Trips and More. If you’re interested in hearing more about our experience or to discuss ways you can get involved please reach out, we’d love to share.
During my first term serving as a Board Member, I have gained a deeper respect for our Church leaders, the staff, volunteers and board members. I love being part of a team that has the passion and humility to drive the mission of the Grove with sacrifice, honesty and integrity.
We truly have an amazing team and it’d be an honor to serve another term.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration with your vote.
Sincerely,
Michelle Resetar

He has also been a part of the Board for three years, where he has witnessed the church grow into its mission to love God, connect with others, and serve all.
Scott is a loving husband and father of four children (and three grandsons), who share
his enthusiasm for the church and its community. He works as the Director of
Snohomish County EMS and enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, cooking, and walking with Susie for exercise (while solving the world’s problems through conversation.)
He is grateful for the opportunity to serve The Grove Church and looks forward to seeing what God has in store for the future.
